Iowa Woman on Death Row Gets Retrial
MASON CITY, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- An North Iowa woman convicted of helping to kill five people in 1993 will be heading back to trial.
A U.S. Circuit Court ruled yesterday that jurors must first decide whether Angela Johnson is eligible for the death penalty, and whether that should be imposed on each of her five counts of aiding and abetting.
The ruling allows prosecutors to present more evidence against Johnson.
Johnson tricked four victims from the Mason City Area into letting her into their homes, before her boyfriend came in and killed them.
Her boyfriend, Dustin Honken, is on death row for the murders.
