IC Meeting to Place Student Sex Offender
IOWA CITY, IA (CBS2/FOX28) – Today (Tuesday) the Iowa City school board will meet to figure out where to put a student who is on the sex offender registry.
Superintendent Stephen Murley says by law, they have to educate every school-aged student who lives within the district.
He says he thinks this is the first time in the district's history that they've had to deal with this kind of situation.
School leaders say they have to keep most of the details private like the student's name and offense.
The board will discuss the placement during a closed door meeting before their regular meeting which is scheduled for 6pm.
