1 Injured in Black Hawk County Crash

BLACK HAWK COUNTY, IA (CBS2/FOX28) -- One woman was injured in a multi-vehicle crash Friday in Black Hawk County.

It happened on Highway 218 at Cedar Wapsi Road.  When deputies arrived, they found a car with heavy front end damage sitting in the intersection.  The car was driven by Melissa A. Carr, 22, of Cedar Falls.  She was westbound on Cedar Wapsi Road when she entered the intersection and struck a trailer carrying a motorcycle.

The impact threw the trailer with the motorcycle into another northbound vehicle.  Both vehicles ended up in the ditch on both sides of northbound Highway 218.

A female passenger in the truck towing the trailer was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Her condition has not been released.

Carr was cited for failing to yield upon entering a through highway.
