Frederiksen Wants Delay in Murder Trial

FLOYD, IA (CBS2/FOX28) -- The man accused of killing his former fiance's daughter wants his trial delayed.  Casey Frederiksen is accused of killing the 5-year-old girl back in 2005.  He wasn't charged with that crime until 2012 while service a child pornography sentence in federal prison.
The little girl went missing on July 1, 2005.  Days later, kayakers found her body along the Cedar River in Floyd County.
Frederiksen is scheduled to go on trial for Miller's murder on September 15th, but now his attorney is asking for more time to prepare for trial.
A judge has not ruled on that request.  When Frederiksen's trial begins, it will not take place in Floyd County.  Because of pre-trial publicity, a judge has moved the case to Hamilton County in northwest Iowa.
