Cedar Rapids Wins a New Title

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) The City of Five Seasons now has a new title and folks looking for a home may want be interested in this.

Cedar Rapids was named the best city in Iowa for first time home buyers by the online finance site WalletHub. The city also ranked within the top 40 places to buy in the nation.

Out of their list of 300 cities in America - Cedar Rapids came in at number 39.

The personal finance website WalletHub ranked the cities on several categories including home prices, median income, property taxes, crime and weather.

The category that Cedar Rapids did the best in was affordability, with reasonable prices, taxes and a higher family income than the national average.

The Hawkeye State has a couple other cities on the list, Davenport was ranked 68th and Des Moines came in at 106th. Marcy Jones has the story.
