Woman Arrested After Reported Missing

BENTON COUNTY, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) - A Garrison woman is facing charges after she was reported missing while swimming in the Cedar River along the Benton-Buchanan County line.

Benton County Sheriff's officers responded to the scene at about 7:00 Saturday evening for reports that 42-year-old Jennifer Frye had gone under water and had not resurfaced for more than 25-minutes.

Further reports indicated that Frye had taken off swimming from a sandbar without a life jacket when she went missing.

However, just 20-minutes into the search, members of the Mt. Auburn Fire Department would locate Frye uninjured.

Both Frye and another man, 35-year-old Trent Hope, also of Garrison would be arrested on public intoxication charges and would be taken to the Benton County Jail.
