Imposter Forces School to Beef Up Security
NEWTON, IA (CBS2/FOX28) – An Iowa school district is trying to figure out how to make their schools safer after an imposter was able to get into their schools.
Back in May police say 33-year-old David Lavera visited two Newton middle schools claiming to be a stunt man from the "Twilight" series.
He even signed autographs and took pictures with students.
That's where police say he found his victims - they say he tried to get one girl into his car and recorded two others in a bathroom.
In June, Lavara was arrested and now faces several charges including sexual abuse.
School leaders say that even though nothing criminal happened on school grounds, it's still a good time to go over their policies.
