Rockin' For A Cause

CENTER POINT, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) – Fans of live music and making a difference in the lives of children were in luck Saturday in Center Point.

Rock bands from across the country took part in Rockin’ For A Cause which helps raise money for the Childhood Cancer Center at the University of Iowa through ticket sales and a silent auction.

Organizers say they hoped to raise a few thousand dollars, but no matter what, they say they’re always happy to help out.

"You can't describe it,” director Rob Taylor said. “Our motto is 'it's time to make a difference' so that's why we want everyone to come out and make a difference for those kids."

Six bands played the show that went all the way through midnight.
