Family Offers Reward In Teen Death

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) -- The family of a Davenport teenager found dead after an apparent shooting is offering a $5,000 reward for information resulting in the arrest and conviction of his killer.

The family of 17-year-old Marcus Jones posted the reward on Facebook this week.

His mother told the Quad-City Times the family hopes the reward "will help people talk and bring more information out."

Police found the body of Jones soon after midnight on Aug. 10 after receiving a report of a body in a yard with an apparent gunshot wound.

An autopsy was performed Aug. 11 but police haven't released the results.

Davenport Police Capt. Dale Sievert says detectives are still working on the case.
