IA Unemployment Rate Steady

DES MOINES, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) - According to the Iowa Workforce Development agency, Iowa's unemployment rate held steady over the month of June.

In its latest unemployment report, June's unemployment rate came in at 4.4-percent, the same rate that came in during the month of May.

But while the unemployment rate remained the same, the report also estimates that 600 more Iowans are now unemployed since the start of June.

Although the news isn't the best, June's numbers were still better than June 2013's when the unemployment rate for that month came in at 4.8-percent.

Nationally, the U.S. unemployment rate dropped to 6.1-percent.
