North Liberty Council Accepting Applications

NORTH LIBERTY, IA (CBS2/FOX28) -- The North Liberty City Council is looking for applicants to fill a vacancy on the council.

The vacancy is left following Gerry Kuhl's appointment to mayor. To be considered, applicants must be a North Liberty resident and at least 18 years old. The appointment will last until November 2015 or until the next city special election, which may include the local option sales tax vote scheduled for November 2014.

Anyone interested can print an application on the City of North Liberty's website (click here). Applications are due to the city clerk by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22.

The City Council plans to consider the appointment at a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. on July 29, and applicants are encouraged to attend.
