Right now, four trucks are up and running, but the program has been approved for an additional truck.

We still have a long ways to go, Kyle Seick, owner of Local Burrito said. This is a good starting point for us to gauge the public interest and work with the city and hopefully once this is complete we can prove this is something Iowa City wants to have and people speak up for us and the city's willing to work with us.

The first day proved to be a success for the program, Some of the operators report having sold out of items in a matter of hours.

The trucks will be open on Thursdays from 10am to 5pm and on Fridays from 10am to 8pm.
