Iowa City Requests Sandbagging Volunteers

IOWA CITY, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Iowa City officials have requested volunteers to help sandbag. The emergency volunteer center at the Johnson County Fairgrounds coordinates individuals and groups that want to help. You just have to head to the center and sign up. The address is 4265 Oak Crest Hill Rd SE, Iowa City.

Sand and bags are available to Iowa City residents who can fill their own at the City's salt storage building, located at 3800 Napoleon Lane. Residents are responsible for loading their own bags. Call 319-356-5164 to schedule a pick-up time.
