Gov. Branstad Visits Vinton

VINTON, IA (CBS2/FOX28) -- Gov. Terry Branstad made a stop in Vinton Tuesday as part of his campaign for Iowa governor.

It was part of his "Building Iowa's Future" tour.  Branstad stopped at a restaurant in Vinton and spoke on a number of issues including taxes and the ongoing immigration crisis.

As part of his remarks, Branstad said that he believes that, "the country is going in the wrong direction."

Branstad has repeatedly voiced his opposition to bringing children who have crossed into the U.S. illegally to Iowa.
