Police Release Name of Officer Involved in Deadly Shooting

ANKENY, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - The Ankeny police department has released the name of the officer involved in a deadly shooting.
Police say on Saturday Officer Aaron King shot and killed 59-year-old Marilyn Boyd after she pointed a gun at him and his partner.
The Des Moines register reports police were called to her home after someone called 911 and said Boyd was suicidal and had a gun.
When they got there, police say Boyd pointed a weapon at the officers and King shot her.
Her son says he doesn't understand what led up to this, saying he's spoken with her just a day earlier about plans for the future.
Officer king is on paid administrative leave while the investigation continues.
