Reserve Deputy on Leave After Shooting

POLK COUNTY, IA (CBS2/FOX28) -- A reserve deputy from the Polk County Sheriff's Office is on leave after his gun discharged following a weekend chase.

Troy Cline first broke the windows of the vehicle with a baton.  Then, a single round was somehow fired into the door of the vehicle.

The chase the preceded the incident happened near Urbandale and reached speeds of more than 75 MPH.

The gunshot caused damage to the vehicle, but nobody was injured.
