Johnson County Lifts Boating Ban

JOHNSON COUNTY, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) The Johnson County Sheriffs Department has ended the countys boating ban on area waterways, including the Iowa River.

Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek pulled that ban effective at 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon after the Army Corps of Engineers decreased the outflow at the Coralville Reservoir to a level that should allow for flood waters to begin receding.

The boating ban had been in effect for Johnson County since July 2.
