Early Preeclampsia Detector Found

IOWA CITY, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - University of Iowa researchers have found an early detector of preeclampsia in pregnant women.
The condition causes high blood pressure and could lead to early deliveries.
A simple blood test can find an excess of a certain hormone that could predict the condition as early as six weeks into pregnancy.
Researchers believe the discovery will help mothers better take care of the condition.
Currently, there is no way to treat preeclampsia except to monitor high blood pressure levels.
