Estimated Completion Date For Tree Removal

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) - Crews continue to collect tree debris following the severe storms. The SE side of town was significantly impacted, and collection crews from other quadrants are being deployed to the SE side to help assist in pick-up and speed up the process. The anticipated completion date for city-wide tree debris removal is Friday, July 25.

More than 300 tons of tree debris has already been picked up on the SE side of town. As of July 15, more than 740 tons of tree debris city-wide has been removed and hauled to the Cedar Rapids/Linn County Solid Waste Agency composting facility. It is estimated another 400 tons will be removed before completion.

Residents with smaller quantities of branches are encouraged to utilize their YARDY carts for disposal.
