Most Expensive 4th of July Ever?

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - If you're planning to grill out for the Fourth of July you'll be spending more on food.

Analysts say Americans will spend more than $6-billion over the holiday weekend, they say it will be the most expensive Independence Day ever.

Rising prices for beef, ice cream, and produce are to blame for the increases.
Costs for the popular foods are up more than 5% from may of last year.

Gas prices may put a damper on your celebrations as well. They are expected to be at their highest level in six years.

According to gasbuddy.com, the statewide average for a gallon of gas is $3.59. That's $0.08 below that national average.

Prices are expected to continue keep rising throughout the holiday weekend.
