Olin Prepares for Major Flooding

OLIN, IA - (CBS2/FOX28) - For some eastern Iowa communities the weather worries aren't over yet.

All that rain dumped to our north is on its way down area rivers and streams right now.

The city of Olin is seeing some of the worst flooding they've seen in years.

Nearly half a dozen homes are seeing water up to the door ways. Some roads are still underwater from last night's flash flooding.

The fire department actually had to purchase a boat to get people out of their homes.

The town has already started making sand bags to help protect more homes that are being threatened by the Wapsipinicon.

If you'd like to help, city leaders ask that volunteers go to 308 Wall Street in Olin.
