Names Released In Fatal Mt. Vernon Crash

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa (AP) -- Authorities have released the names of two people killed in a four-vehicle accident near Mount Vernon in eastern Iowa.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office identified them as 33-year-old David Hultquist and his passenger, 23-year-old Skyler Darrow, both of Martelle.

Deputies say the two were in a car stopped Monday in a construction zone on Iowa Highway 1 when it was hit in the rear by a sport utility vehicle. Their car was pushed into the vehicle ahead, which was pushed into the vehicle ahead of it.

The 44-year-old SUV driver, Kimberly Sargent, and two children with her were hospitalized after the crash. All three are from Platteville, Wisconsin.

Deputies say the people in the other cars weren't injured.
