Cedar Rapids Church Rebuilds Today

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - As we work to clean up from the recent storms hundreds of volunteers will converge on a single site to help a church rebuild from the floods of 2008.
Six years ago, the floods of 2008 destroyed the New Life Pentecostal Chuch in Cedar Rapids.
Since then, they've slowly been rebuilding.
But Friday and Saturday volunteers will meet at the church to step up the pace and finish the rest of the work.
The project is an adaptation of the Church In A Day program that builds churches around the country in 30-hours.
By midnight on Saturday, the 130-seat sanctuary and religious classrooms will be complete and leaders hope to hold their first service this Sunday.
