Roy Marble Charged With Domestic Assault

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) -- Former Hawkeye Basketball player Roy Lane Marble is charged with domestic abuse assault.

An online court filing in Linn County shows Marble is accused of strangling a person Saturday. Documents do not name the alleged victim, but show a no contact order has been filed.

The 47-year-old Marble is scheduled to be arraigned in court on July 17.

Marble played four seasons with the Hawkeyes, leaving as the program's top-scorer, with 2,116 career points. He was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the 1989 draft.

His son, Roy Devyn Marble graduated from Iowa this year, after being named to the All-Big Ten Conference First Team during his senior year.
