FBI Investigating CR Bank Robbery

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) - Two people are in custody tonight after a late afternoon bank robbery, vehicle pursuit, and crash.
Cedar Rapids police officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at the U.S. Bank, 129 16th Avenue SW, at 4:44 p.m. this afternoon.  A robbery suspect left in a vehicle.
A short time later, the suspect vehicle was located.  Cedar Rapids police officers attempted to stop the suspect vehicle.  The driver took off. The chase  continued until the driver hit another vehicle at the intersection of A Avenue and 7th Street NE.  The driver and passenger being chased by police took off on foot. They were later caught on foot by police.
No one was hurt.
The case is under investigation jointly by the Cedar Rapids Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
