Republicans Keep Watchful Eye on Primaries

WASHINGTON, D.C. (CBS2/FOX28) The Senate race between Rep. Bruce Braley and Joni Ernst is just one of many that republicans are keeping a close eye on as they work to turn the senate red.
Tuesday night, the GOP was watching as voters hit the polls in six key primary races across the country.
In a much anticipated run-off in Mississippi republican senate incumbent Thad Cochran defeated Tea Party challenger and senator, Chris Mcdaniel.
In Oklahoma, Republican State Senator Jim Inhofe, defeated four challengers in his bid for another six-year senate term.
And in the race for the states other senate seat, two term republican congressman James Lankford beat T.W. Shannon.
Lankford says republican ideals are what are best for the entire country.
These primaries are especially important to the Republican Party.
They need to turn six blue seats red in order to take control of the Senate.
