Horizons Kicks-Off Lunch Program

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- One Cedar Rapids organization is kicking off an effort to make sure kids get a good meal while school is out for the summer.
    Horizons started its free summer meals program today, serving lunch to kids at Ellis Park from 11:00  to 1:00 this afternoon.
    In addition to lunch, the children got a chance to hear from a former National Football League player , play games, and get their faces painted.
    Speakers say events like this are important to make sure kids stay healthy during the summer.
    The free lunch program has a different location every week and runs through August 22nd.
