U.S. Lawmakers on Iraq: 'Diplomacy, Not Firepower'

BAGDHAD, IRAQ (CBS2/FOX28) - Secretary of State John Kerry will meet with senior NATO officials in Belgium Wednesday to discuss the crisis in Iraq.
This comes as refugee camps in Iraq continue to swell as families look to flee growing violence in the country.
Kerry was in Iraq Tuesday to meet with the Prime Minister and other leaders to convince them to form a more unified government. Most U.S. lawmakers say the way we need to move forward is with political action; not firepower.
The diplomatic push comes as militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria threaten to divide the country.
The group has already gained control of some major cities and borders.
The U.S. calculates there are nearly 10 thousand ISIS fighters in Iraq and Syria.
