Study Backs Effects of Excessive Drinking

Los Angeles, CA (CBS) - New study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that excessive drinking among adults, accounts for nearly one in ten deaths.

Researchers found heavy drinking shortened lives by about 30 years because of alcohol's long term effects.

Experts consider it excessive drinking when a woman has eight or more beverages a week and men have 15 or more.

Doctors say it's important to ask yourself how many drinks are considered "social" for you and how often are you drinking.
