Wolf Shot in Iowa

FAIRBANK, Iowa (CBS 2/FOX 28) - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says a wolf has been found in Iowa for the first time since at least 1925.

A coyote hunter reportedly shot the wolf near Fairbank in Buchanan County back in February.

A DNA test would later confirm that the animal shot was a healthy female wolf.

The wolf now joins a list of predators to have re-entered Iowa in the last few years, along with black bears and mountain lions.
