Chase Damages Police Vehicle

FAYETTE COUNTY, Iowa (CBS 2/Fox 28) -- Authorities in Fayette County are releasing details about a chase Saturday that ended with a suspect ramming his vehicle into a police SUV.

A Fayette County Deputy observed Robert Gould, 34, of West Union, driving on a rural road.

Gould was known to be wanted in Buchanan County and known to be driving on a suspended license.  When the Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, Gould refused to stop, entering West Union.

Gould led authorities on a chase that went through yards before ramming a police vehicle.

Gould was charged with Assault on a Police Officer (class D Felony) Eluding while participating in a felony (class D Felony) Driving While License Suspended (simple misdemeanor) Reckless Driving (simple misdemeanor) Criminal Mischief 4th (serious misdemeanor) and Fail to Maintain Seatbelt (simple misdemeanor). Gould was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he is being held on a $30,000 bond.
