Romney, Ernst Rally

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (CBS 2/FOX 28) - He may not have won the White House in 2012, but now former Massachusetts Governor, Mitt Romney is trying to help republicans win the Senate in 2014.

On Friday, Romeny joined senate primary candidate, Joni Ernst for a campaign rally in Cedar Rapids.

Ernst is in the final push before the June 3rd Primary Election on Tuesday. She is currently battling four other candidates for her party's nomination.

At the rally, Romney praised Ernst and even paraphrased a line from one of the state senator's campaign ads that went viral.

"If you want them to not just squeal, but if you want real change, if you want someone to shake things up, Joni Ernst will shake things up in Washington," Romney said. "That's what we need."

"The Washington way, it's not working, it's not working," Ernst said. "But let me tell you what, our way, the Iowa way is working, it is working."

After their stop in Cedar Rapids, Ernst and Romney were scheduled to make another rally-stop in Davenport.

The winner of Tuesday's Primary Election will likely go on to face Rep. Bruce Braley in the general election to replace outgoing Senator Tom Harkin.
