High Court Clears Bisignano

The Iowa Supreme Court says a Des Moines man can run for state senate espite being convicted for driving drunk.

The high court ruled Tuesday that Tony Bisignano's drunk driving conviction would not keep him from running for office.

Bisignano's opponent Ned Chiodo claimed the conviction disqualified him from voting or seeking office under Iowa's infamous crimes rule.

Bisignano and Chiodo are seeking the state senate seat being vacated by Senator Jack Hatch.
