Faster Internet Coming To The Corridor

CEDAR RAPIDS (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Faster internet is coming to the Corridor. Mediacom announced Monday that it will offer a new broadband internet service, with speeds nearly three times faster than its previous top speed.

The new Mediacom Ultra 305 service will be available to residential customers in Cedar Rapids, Marion, Hiawatha, Bertram, Fairfax, and Toddville. The new service follows a multi-million-dollar investment into Mediacom's network, meant to bring faster speeds on updated technology.

With Ultra 305, customers will be able to download a high-quality 90-minute high-definition movie in about 52 seconds. The same file would take about 89 minutes to download with a standard 3 mbps speed.
