Workforce Development Sees Improvements

DES MOINES (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- The Iowa Workforce Development has improved its process for getting Iowans their unemployment benefits.

This is the first time since 2009 that the agency had no issues, according to a report that looks at the percentage of cases with decisions made in less than 30 days.

Now, Iowans aren't waiting as long to find out if they can receive unemployment benefits or not.

The agency credits its increase in efficiency to new training and technology.
