BREAKING NEWS: Four Dead in Fort Hood Shooting
FORT HOOD, Texas (CBS 2/FOX 28) - UPDATE: The shooter had been identified as 34-year-old soldier Ivan Lopez. A source said the violence apparently stemmed from some sort of soldier dispute.

UPDATE: Fort Hood's Directorate of Emergency Services has an initial report that a shooter is dead but this is unconfirmed.
The injured personnel are being transported to Carl R. Darnall Medical Center and other local hospitals. Numerous law enforcement agencies are in support and on the scene. The number of injured are not confirmed at this time. No further details are known at this time.

Shots were fired Wednesday afternoon at Fort Hood, killing at least one person and wounding several others, CBS affiliate KWTX reported.
Warning sirens went off. A spokesman for the base said there was an active shooter situation and all personnel were asked to shelter in place. He could provide no further details.KWTX said one death had been confirmed and that at least eight other people were injured.
man who said he was a witness told KWTX that about 20 shots were fired
at a post motor pool. The man said he saw a soldier jumping over a fence
and running away, but it was not clear whether that solider may have
been the shooter.
The post was on lockdown and a spokesman called the situation "serious."
First responders from surrounding communities were headed to the post.Ford Hood near Killeen was the site of a mass murder on Nov. 5, 2009, when Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, opened fire at a soldier readiness center on the base. He shot 13 people dead and wounded more than 30 others. It was the worst shooting ever to take place on an American military base.
Hasan has been sentenced to death for the rampage.
