U-of-I More Likely to Expel Sexual Assault Offenders

IOWA CITY, Iowa (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- The University of Iowa plans to further crackdown on students convicted of sexual violence.

News reports say the school had "productive talks" with the Iowa Board of Regents regarding the punishment of offenders.

Although the school is able to expel students, administrators say they rarely have in the past because the expulsion rules didn't cover what a victim would have to go though in the appeals process.

U-of-I students are demanding that administrators take a "zero tolerance" stance on sexual assaults on campus.
