New Marion Waste Facility to be Underway in Summer

MARION, Iowa (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- The company behind Marion's new waste revitalization facility says they hope to begin construction sometime this summer.

Fiberight President ans CEO, Craig Stuart-Paul was the keynote speaker at the annual Marion Economic Development Company Luncheon today.

He says the facility will recover recyclable materials from Marion's waste and then ship the organic material to a facility in Blairstown where it will be converted into ethanol.

Stuart-Paul says planning for the Marion facility began about a year-and-a-half ago and that it is expected to bring 40 new jobs to the city.
