Parking Changes At IC VA Medical Center

IOWA CITY (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- Phase 2 of a parking garage construction project at the Iowa City VA Medical Center begins Tuesday. The beginning of the second phase also means changes to parking at and around the medical center.

Starting Tuesday (April 1, 2014), there will be no parking in the front of the medical center. All patients and visitors will instead have to park in the northeast parking lot, to the left of the driveway entrance, or in the parking lots behind the medical center.

Patients can enter the medical center through the back or front entrance. There will be patient shuttles available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to take patients to the entrances.

All handicap parking will be marked with signs and blue paint, in the parking lots behind the medical center.

Staff will also be on hand to point patients and visitors to the available parking areas.
