Supper For Steele

SPRINGVILLE, Iowa (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- One of the Corridor's most recognized voices is getting a little help from his friends.

KHAK morning show host, Scott Steele, was first diagnosed with cancer in 2009.

On Sunday, so-workers and listeners gathered at Sally's on Boradway in Springville to help with rising medical costs.

KHAK sold tickets in advance for the event and others donated items for a silent auction.

Steele's co-host says the support shows what the Corridor is all about.

"We talk to a lot of people every morning while we're on the air," Ryan Brainard said. "It's really cool to see them basically tell us that we're all kind of one big family and when one of our own is in need, we all step up and help. That's what's great about living in eastern Iowa."
