SE Iowa Man Faces More Animal Neglect Charges

DRAKESVILLE, Iowa (AP) -- A southeast Iowa man has been arrested on more than three dozen charges related to more than 300 animals found at his home.
The Davis County Sheriff's Office arrested 45-year-old Roger Alan Blew, of Drakesville, on Thursday, a week after officers searched his home and found 339 animals, including many dead animals.
The sheriff's Office charged Blew with 28 counts of animal neglect. The Department of Natural Resources charged him with 10 additional counts alleging he had wild animals without a license, including a skunk, raccoon and fox.
Blew previously was charged with improperly confining animals and three counts of animal cruelty after an officer stopped his van and found more than 20 animals inside.
Blew pleaded not guilty to those charges. He was with deputies Friday at the courthouse.
