Burglar Steals Keys to All Apartments

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (KCCI-TV)Marshalltown police said five people have been charged with in an investigation launched after a burglary at an apartment complex.

Police said two burglaries took place at the Sundance Apartments at 1401 South 7th Ave. Someone entered the building manager's office and took money, master keys to all the apartments, a check reader and other items.

Police said during a traffic stop on Jan. 11, Joseph Michael Witte was arrested and charged after rent checks made out to Sundance were found in his vehicle.

Additional people were charged during an investigation that police said included the discovery of more burglary cases.

Witte, 26, was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of forgery and second-degree theft.

Courtney Michelle Kinnetz, 27, and Lisa Marie Nauman, 33, were both charged with third-degree burglary.

Christopher Allen Peak, 23, of Grinnell, was charged with third-degree burglary and two counts of fifth-degree theft -- possession of stolen property.

Shelby Lynn Peak, 22, of Grinnell, was charged with fifth-degree theft.
