Fencing for Valentine's Day

IOWA CITY (CBS 2/FOX 28) --
A class in Iowa City is giving couples a unique way to celebrate Valentine's Day.
The Fencing Center is offering a discounted introductory course on February 14th.
Participants will learn to suit up, move, and use a weapon.
By the end of the night, they will be fencing with their partners.
Members say the moves can help bring couples closer together.
"I think fencing is romantic.  It has a romantic history, a little bit of honor," said Shanrae'l Stoner, who met her fiance while fencing.
"In 1970, we were both freshman.  He asked me if I wanted to fence, and I said yes.  It's been a lifetime.  It's been great," said Jann Ream, who fences with her husband.
A recent study of Olympic competitions also shows that fencing is one of the safest sports.
The introductory class runs from 8:30pm to 10:30pm.
