Gateway Project Moving Foward in Iowa City

IOWA CITY, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- The plan to raise Dubuque Street in Iowa City -- is moving forward.
The Iowa City City Council has recommended raising the road to a foot above the 100-year flood level and replacing the park road bridge with one that's a foot above the 200-year flood level.
Officials say that's as low as they can go and keep federal funding for the project.
Critics say the changes will affect the historic look of the area.
The city will likely start working on designing the project within two months.
