Eastern Iowa Skater Falls Short of Olympic Dreams

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS 2/FOX 28) -- A Cedar Rapids pairs skater falls short of making the Olympic Games.
But Tim Leduc of the Eastern Iowa Figure Skating Club says, that doesn't mean a dream didn't come true at this year's Olympic Trials.
Leduc and his partner Dee Dee Leng were third at the U.S. Nationals in Boston after their short program earlier this week.
The team tallied up a personal best score after only being together for 19 months and competing against teams that have been paired up for many years.
Today's free skate wasn't as successful.
The pair had a couple of falls that left them out of the running for a slot on the Olympic Ream in Sochi, Russia.
But, Tim says nothing will take away the satisfaction the short program brought them at this year's Olympic Trials.
Tim and Dee Dee finished 7th at Nationals, that's two slots higher than last year.
They aren't making any decisions yet on whether they will be making another Olympic run in 2018.
