Preventing Flu Germs

With a jump in flu illnesses and deaths across the country, doctors are looking at ways to protect the nation's youngest residents.
Children under 6 months old cannot get vaccinated for the flu.
To keep those little ones safe from germs, though, some health experts are recommending saline sprays.
Doctors say the spray is safe for infants and prevents some of the most common childhood illnesses, including colds, flu, ear infections, and pneumonia.
A bottle of saline can cost about $6 and usually lasts for a couple months.
