Loebsack at VA Homeless Veterans Summit

CORALVILLE (CBS 2/FOX 28) --
Congressman Dave Loebsack is pushing to help Iowa veterans settle back into civilian life.
Loebsack spoke today at the Veterans' Administration Homeless Veterans Summit in Coralville.
He says our military members deserve the chance to work and make a living in our state.
"They couldn't have survived in the military if they were not eminently trainable so they are really great candidates for a job, and I encourage folks to look at them carefully," said Loebsack.
Loebsack has been a supporter of veteran services for years.
In 2012, he announced a $200,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to help homeless veterans get job training.
Last year, he met with nearly 100 Iowa veterans and sent a letter with their concerns to federal officials.
