Congressional Candidate Promotes Minimum Wage Increase

An Iowa Congressional Candidate says boosting the state's economy could start with wages.
Pat Murphy today began a "Growing Middle Class Opportunities Tour" in Cedar Rapids.
He outlined his plan to support working families, including his proposed minimum wage increase to $10.10 per hour.
"We need to support our hardworking families and raising the minimum wage is the best way to affect those at the lower end of the pay scale," said Murphy.
Murphy is running for the Congressional seat being left by Representative Bruce Braley, who will be running for Senate in 2014.
Murphy will be up against Dave O'Brien, Anesa Katazovic, and Swati Dandekar for the Democratic nomination.
