Bloomfield Will Be Tried in Johnson County
IOWA CITY, IA (CBS2/FOX28) -- John Bloomfield's attorneys will not be fighting his extradition from Minnesota, and Bloomfield will be brought back to Iowa City for trial, according to his attorney Leon Spies.
The decision was made after conferring with Bloomfield's counsel in St. Paul, and the official date will be set by the Johnson and Ramsey County Sheriffs.
Bloomfield has been accused of killing his wife in 1997. Official charges will be made once Bloomfield is back in Iowa City. Bloomfield will plead not guilty to those charges, Spies said.
