Deadly House Fire In Eastern Iowa

ST. PAUL, Iowa (AP) -- Two people have died in an early-morning house fire in southeast Iowa.

Lee County Sheriff Jim Sholl says 59-year-old Audie Ellard and 52-year-old Karma Ellard were killed Monday in the fire in the Lee County city of St. Paul.

The Burlington Hawk Eye reports firefighters found both victims inside the house.

The fire was reported about 4:25 a.m. Firefighters found the house engulfed in flames when they arrived.

A cause of the fire hasn't been released.
